William (Bill) Barrington earned a B.A. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the College of Wooster in 2010 and a Ph.D. in Genetics from North Carolina State University in 2016. He is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
Bill’s research centers on understanding how genetic factors influence peoples’ responses to diets with the goal of improving human health by optimizing individuals’ diets. While Bill is a highly trained scientist, he has the public’s interests at heart. When designing studies, he emphasizes real-world applications and strives to perform science that appeals to the interests of the public, not just the scientific community. This website serves as a gateway between the “ivory tower” of academic science and general public who simply want to know what to eat to improve their health.
